Plugin overview
CAD2BIM bridges the gap between 2D CAD and a coordinated structural BIM model. It detects linework and shapes from CAD references and converts them into native, parametric Revit elements - columns, framing, slabs and grids - that you can schedule and edit, cutting manual redrawing time in the early structural phase.
Tutorial
How to use this plugin
- Download CAD2BIM from the marketplace and run the installer; finish setup.
- Open your Revit project and launch CAD2BIM from the BIM Hive tab.
- Browse to your DWG file and set the drawing units and base point.
- Map each CAD layer to its target structural element type.
- Run the conversion.
- Review the generated native Revit columns, framing, slabs and grids.
