Finishes Tool
Generates room ceilings, plaster, paint, flooring, and skirting in one step.
Overview
Finishes Tool builds the finishes for a room - ceiling, plaster, paint, floor, and skirting - from a single dialog, so you don't have to model each layer by hand. Pick one or more rooms, choose the types and dimensions for each finish, and the tool generates the finish elements bounded to the room. For the ceiling you set a ceiling type and either a drop from the top of the room (DT) or a clear height (CH). Plastering takes a plaster wall type and an overshoot value (PO); painting applies a paint wall type (on the plaster, on the ceiling face, or a manual thickness); flooring uses a floor type; and the skirt layer uses a skirt wall type and height (SH). Run it once and the room's finishes are modeled and ready to schedule or detail. How to use: 1. Open a plan view with placed, bounded rooms. 2. Go to the BIM Hive tab and launch Finishes Tool. 3. Select one or more rooms (use Multiple to pick several), then click Finish. 4. In the dialog, set the ceiling type and its drop-from-top or clear height. 5. Choose the plaster wall type and overshoot, and the paint wall type. 6. Set the floor type and the skirt type and height. 7. Click OK to generate the finishes for the selected rooms.
